On May 16, 2020 at 6pm Pacific, Confident Voice Studio (http://confidentvoicestudio.com) and Portland Musical Theater Company (http://portlandmusicaltheater.org) premiere The Show Must Go Online, the first musical written to be rehearsed and performed all virtually on May 16th at 6pm Pacific at TheShowMustGoOnlineMusical.com
With the unprecedented mass cancellation of live theater events due to COVID-19, performers of all ages have lost long-awaited performance opportunities.
The Show Must Go Online is the hilarious story of a group of passionate students desperate to keep their annual musical alive…online!
The production is directed by Deanna Maio, founder of both Confident Voice Studio and Portland Musical Theater company and esteemed vocal coach. Maio has written, directed and performed in over 100 theater productions. Because it was designed to be rehearsed and performed virtually, passionate performers can continue participating in theater safely at home, and the audience can enjoy the story and performances online.
Said Maio, "In a time when performers around the world are sitting at home, bored, not singing, not acting, not being a part of a show, now they have made history and brought some hope and joy to an online audience."
The productions will debut on YouTube on May 16, 2020 at 6pm at TheShowMustGoOnlineMusical.com
THE SHOW MUST GO ONLINE is a virtual musical with book by Jessica Penzias, lyrics by Dave Hudson, music by Denver Casado, and is presented through special arrangement with Beat by Beat Press (www.bbbpress.com)
