Job Description / Duties
The Institute of Music specifically seeks candidates to teach music majors and non-majors in choral ensembles and elective music courses. Teaching assignment is one treble, one mixed, and one non-auditioned community choir each semester and one elective course per year, and funding is available for professional development and research with undergraduate students.
Primary responsibilities include building and maintaining a strong choral program (e.g., recruiting); providing excellent choral instruction of a wide variety of musical styles and traditions; and, emphasizing vocal health and the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA).

Qualifications / Required Skills
The Institute of Music at DePauw University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2025. Ph.D., D.M.A, or D.M. (completed by August 2025) in choral studies is preferred; ABD candidates will be considered at the rank of Instructor. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting and evidence of effective and inclusive teaching are essential.
