Job Description / Duties
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the principal, serve as an elementary music teacher planning, delivering and assessing K-5 music instruction which includes vocal and instrumental courses. The applicant must be able to teach K-5 music and coordinate vocal and instrumental concerts
TEACHING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engaging and supporting all students in learning music.
Creating and maintaining effective environments for student learning.
Understanding and organizing subject matter for student learning.
Planning instruction and designing learning experiences for all students.
Assessing student learning.
Developing as a professional educator.
Establishing and maintaining the support and confidence of the school, district and community.
Building relationships with students, staff, parents and administration
Communicating with staff and administration regularly. Sharing plans, projects and information. Participating in grade-level, staff, and planning meetings.
Collaborating with colleagues, grade-level partners and supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful experience working with elementary school students in music. Knowledge of subject matter content and assessments.
A valid California Music single subject teaching credential with CLAD
