Job Description / Duties
The Fine Arts Department is looking for a full-time tenure track Voice Instructor position.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Each of the following requirements are a must:
• A Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance is
required.
• Applicants must be able to teach (and must have taught)
classical as well as jazz and popular music vocal
technique at a university level.
• The ability to conduct and direct a university-level
• The ability to conduct and direct a university-level
choir is also a requirement. The successful candidate
will also be required to teach Aural Skills (level I and
II), Music Theory (first and second year) and or Music
History (first and second year survey courses).
• Knowledge and experience with piano accompaniment and
music technology is essential.
Candidates must be student centered, dynamic educators with excellent interpersonal/communication skills. The ability to adapt pedagogical methodologies to accommodate a diverse student body is essential. The ability to work in a collaborative environment with fellow instructors, support staff and members of the community is essential.
Additional Information
This full-time tenure track position (subject to budget, enrollment & favorable evaluations) will begin August 15, 2016 and end April 30, 2017. Grande Prairie Regional College offers an attractive benefits and remuneration package. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
