Job Description / Duties

The Department of Music at Wake Forest University invites applications for a full-time vocal faculty appointment to begin in August, 2017. The position is for a tenor, baritone or bass. Salary will be commensurate with rank, education and experience.

Duties may include:

- individual instruction in voice
- class instruction in voice, theatrical singing,
diction for singers, vocal literature, and opera
workshop
- vocal direction for Department of Theatre musical
productions
- professional solo performances within the university
and elsewhere
- participation in university governance, faculty
meetings, committees, and academic advising

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Master’s degree (M.M., M.A.); Doctorate (D.M.A.) or equivalent experience preferred, with an emphasis on vocal performance and pedagogy. Piano skills as requisite for studio and class voice instruction. Experience with contemporary musical theatre singing and acting techniques is desirable. Applicants should have a record of successful professional solo performance. An understanding of undergraduate liberal arts education and interdisciplinary study is highly recommended.
