Position Description: Full-time, nine month, non-tenure accruing faculty position in Musical Theatre Voice

The School of Theatre + Dance at the University of Florida seeks a specialist in musical theatre voice with a proven record of teaching effectiveness. We are seeking an individual with a strong commitment to the training of BFA students in a vibrant musical theatre program within one of the nation’s top public research universities.

Responsibilities: Provide individual and ensemble vocal instruction for BFA musical theatre majors. Other instructional duties include vocal coaching of students on musical theatre audition material, including preparation for an annual NYC showcase. Serve an active role in recruitment for the musical theatre program, and supervise senior projects, as needed. Serve as associate musical director on musicals, with occasional conducting duties as needed. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications: M.M. degree in Voice. At least two years of full-time teaching on the college/university level. Technical skills necessary to teach a classical Broadway repertoire, as well as pop, rock, and legit styles. Proficient piano skills. Understanding of musical theatre training, including acting and dance.

Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience as a singer, vocal coach, and/or musical director. Experience in opera desirable. Accompanying skills.
