Job Description / Duties

POSITION: Artist/Teacher in Applied Voice

RANK: Clinical Assistant Professor, full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month appointment effective August 16, 2018.

DUTIES: Teach studio voice, as well as related courses in vocal pedagogy, diction and/or vocal literature as assigned. Maintain creative and scholarly activity, including visibility as a performer, and participation in Cantiamo!, the voice faculty ensemble. Participate in student recruiting as well as other service activities and professional organizations ancillary to the position.

Qualifications / Required Skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Tenor, Baritone or Bass. Master’s degree in vocal performance and national viability. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the university/college level in studio voice and classroom. A high level of performance, organizational skills, and interpersonal communication. Keyboard skills commensurate with college-level vocal instruction.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in vocal performance. Experience teaching voice, and related courses at the college/university level.

SCHOOL: The School of Music has 30 full-time and 2 part-time music faculty, and 7 staff members. It is housed in the Kimbrough Music Building, which includes a professional quality, digital recording studio.
