Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno Department of Music and Department of Theatre and Dance seeks a dynamic individual to join their voice faculty in Fall 2020. This is a non-tenure-track, 9 month continuing position in which faculty are eligible for promotion, and in which the predominant responsibility is teaching. The primary responsibilities for this position will be teaching applied voice to undergraduate and graduate voice students in classical and musical theatre styles with a demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive teaching. Other teaching responsibilities may be assigned based on the qualifications of the candidate and the needs of the departments, for example class voice, diction, and vocal literature courses. All voice types will be considered; baritone/bass preferred.
Required Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Voice or equivalent/related degree and professional performance experience
2 years teaching experience developing high school- and/or college-aged voices in a studio (Applied Lessons) and classroom setting (Class Voice)
Preferred Qualifications
DMA, MFA, or equivalent terminal degree
Evidence of attention to diversity, equity and inclusion in teaching and/or service
