Job Description / Duties

The Music Department at Berea College invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning August 2019 at the assistant professor rank. Primary responsibilities include conducting/directing the Concert Choir and the Chamber Singers as well as teaching applied voice at all levels. The position will also allow opportunities for teaching other music-related courses depending on specialization and needs. The successful candidate will have a completed doctorate in choral music, and a record of successful vocal instruction at the undergraduate level. All voices will be considered. The candidate will also be expected to advise music majors and minors. The ideal candidate will have an established record of excellence in choral conducting and applied voice teaching, display professionalism when interacting with members of the college and community, and demonstrate a commitment to carrying out Berea College’s unique mission.
