The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) welcomes Jen Jimenez as the association’s new development director. With more than 20 years of nonprofit fundraising experience and a background in the performing arts, Jimenez brings a wealth of expertise to the role.
Jimenez has a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising, specializing in annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving initiatives. Her ability to build donor relationships, enhance donor engagement, and diversify prospect portfolios has been key for her career.
Prior to joining NATS, Jimenez held various fundraising positions in higher education institutions such as Shenandoah University and Muhlenberg College. Most recently, she served as Director of Institutional Advancement for The Winston School of Short Hills. Her time in the roles included successfully leading three capital campaigns and achieving ambitious fundraising goals through innovative strategies.
In addition to her development work, Jimenez is a trained mezzo-soprano with multiple music degrees. She previously owned Encore Music Studio and Dramatic Arts, where she taught more than 50 voice students weekly and managed a team of music and performing arts instructors. Her performance background also included roles in national musical theatre productions and appearances in television commercials.
“We’re so pleased Jen Jimenez will join the NATS office staff,” said Executive Director Allen Henderson. “Her expertise in fundraising combined with her background in the arts makes her an ideal fit for NATS and will undoubtedly enrich the association’s initiatives. We’re confident that her guidance and contributions to our collective fundraising efforts will advance our mission to transform lives through the power of singing. Welcome, Jen!”
Jimenez is equally enthusiastic about her new position.
“I am thrilled to join the NATS team as your next development director!” Jimenez said. “This role really allows me to blend my unique skill set of fundraising and voice teaching to further the important work that our members are doing. I look forward to collaborating with talented colleagues and members to continue to grow creative initiatives at NATS. Happy singing!”
Jimenez holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music and a master’s degree in vocal pedagogy degree from Westminster Choir College. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe, and their fur baby, Maica.
